- 02Yes, it is possible. As long as you abide by the rules of the National Park and the Ramsar Convention, such as wearing a life jacket, prohibiting swimming, and prohibiting motorized boats, individual use is not a problem. However, this is not an official answer; for official regulations, please contact Tochigi Prefecture. Please contact the office listed under "Contact Us" at the bottom of this page. - 04Generally, we conduct tours only if requested by the customer, unless there is a severe storm, extreme heavy rain, or dense fog. For a detailed explanation and reasons, please refer to this blog post .Regarding cancellations, we will take into account the weather forecast at the time and customer requests, but we generally make a final decision by around 9 PM the night before. However, if a customer wishes to wait until the morning of the event, we will assess the situation that morning and contact them accordingly.
- 05There are two ways of thinking about appearance:1. When the weather is warm enough, you can enjoy yourself perfectly well with just a swimsuit.2. During colder seasons, or even in summer when the weather is cold, if you are concerned about the cold, you can use our rental wetsuits. In that case, you can wear a swimsuit or underwear underneath the wetsuit. Regarding how wet you'll get, even if you don't fall into the lake, water will still get on the board, so you should expect to get wet up to your knees. While it's possible to do this without getting wet at all, on hot days, since it is a water spot, getting a little wet will probably make it more enjoyable. If you absolutely do not want to fail, please let us know and we will proceed accordingly. Please refer to this page for information on clothing.*Wetsuit (long john type) rental is 500 yen per suit. Please indicate this when making your reservation.

- 07The best option is marine shoes with heels. If you don't have anything suitable, we highly recommend using athletic shoes that you don't mind getting wet. Crocs are extremely slippery on the board, so we ask that you refrain from wearing them. While flip-flops without heels are permitted, please be extremely careful as they may come off on the board. Lake Chuzenji was formed by the eruption of Mount Nantai, so the lakeshore is rough and rocky. It's comfortable once you're on a board, but walking barefoot from the changing area to the lakeshore will make the soles of your feet very sore.
- 08If your child is participating by paddling alone, they will need to have the physical strength to safely operate the paddle on their own, considering the weather characteristics of Lake Chuzenji. For this reason, we have set a minimum age of 5th grade elementary school students and above for participation. However, since the maximum weight capacity of a SUP board is approximately 100 kg, it is possible to ride with younger children. In that case, an additional fee will be charged (please refer to the booking page for the fee). *Wearing a life jacket is mandatory as per the rules of Lake Chuzenji.
