There are two ways of thinking about appearance:1. When the weather is warm enough, you can enjoy yourself perfectly well with just a swimsuit.2. During colder seasons, or even in summer when the weather is cold, if you are concerned about the cold, you can use our rental wetsuits. In that case, you can wear a swimsuit or underwear underneath the wetsuit. Regarding how wet you'll get, even if you don't fall into the lake, water will still get on the board, so you should expect to get wet up to your knees. While it's possible to do this without getting wet at all, on hot days, since it is a water spot, getting a little wet will probably make it more enjoyable. Is there a shower nearby?

No, there isn't. Unlike the sea, the water is freshwater and not saltwater, so showers are usually not necessary. However, if you do need a shower, we can recommend nearby hotels or day-use hot springs in the hot spring town. Participants in the morning plan can enjoy the Chuzenji Kanaya Hotel's open-air hot spring bath, Sora-buro, at a 300 yen discount as a Sup! Sup! special offer.

Will the event still go ahead even if it rains?

Basically, we proceed with the tour unless there is a severe storm, extreme heavy rain, or dense fog, provided that the customer requests it. For a detailed explanation and reasons, please refer to this blog post . Regarding cancellation, we will take into account the weather forecast at the time and the customer's request, but we generally make a final decision by around 9 PM the night before. However, if the customer wants to wait until the morning of the tour, we will assess the situation that morning and contact you with a decision.

In cases where it is clearly impossible to hold the event due to a typhoon or other reasons, we will not charge a cancellation fee. If the event is cancelled, we will contact you separately.

What is the minimum age for children to participate?

Accepted Answer

If your child is participating by paddling alone, they will need to have the physical strength to safely operate the paddle on their own, considering the weather characteristics of Lake Chuzenji. For this reason, we have set a condition that only children in the 5th grade of elementary school or older can participate. However, since the maximum weight capacity of a SUP board is approximately 100 kg, it is possible to ride with younger children. In that case, an additional fee will be charged (please refer to the booking page for the fee). *Wearing a life jacket is mandatory as per the rules of Lake Chuzenji.

Is it possible to do SUP (stand-up paddleboarding) even in cold weather?

In the fall, when the water temperature drops, a wetsuit and wet socks are included in the price as a measure against the cold.If you wish to take further precautions, please bring a lightweight windproof jacket.

It's generally easier to get to Lake Chuzenji on weekdays.If you are concerned about traffic congestion, please arrive earlier.
